For some reason, all the Nordic skiing jackets we've used in the past have had lots of strange seams, different materials and messy designs. We therefore wanted to make a stylish Nordic ski jacket without any unnecessary design elements. So we started with a simple raglan cut jacket with no features at all. We then promised ourselves that everything we then added would be things we couldn't live without. Nothing else was allowed to be added.
The first thing we did was to put a pocket on the chest with room for keys, mobile phone or camera. We chose to use a mesh fabric on the inside so that the pocket can offer additional ventilation on slightly warmer days. We also added a long zipper puller to the zipper so you can easily open the pocket with your gloves on.
When we then added our back pocket, we were inspired by cycling's functional clothing. The main purpose of the pocket is to hold an external battery for your headlamp, but you can of course put down gels, food or whatever you wish. We also used mesh in this pocket, for the same reason as the chest pocket.
Then we also added an external clothes hanger under the collar. The idea is that you can run your headlamp cord through it, so it's centered in the back without sliding forward. We are simply tired of cords that fall out or slide around when we ride.
The last thing we did was put a drawstring in the collar with a stop at the back of the neck. When it suddenly blows up or gets colder, it's simply nice to be able to close and keep all the heat inside.
